How to create high resolution version of website images?
There are many different ways about how to create retina-ready images for your website. One of the simplest is to use Photoshop for that:
- Open your image in Photoshop,
- Navigate to “Image” – “Image Size”,

Upload your retina-ready images to your WordPress
If you already have retina-ready images, go to “Media” – “Library” in your WordPress panel and upload your high resolution images to your website. If you have “Retina images replacement” option enabled, dedicated script will automatically replace original images with retina-ready on high resolution screens. That’s it!
Why this option is disabled by default?
When enabled, built-in script checks for retina-ready images on your server and automatically replace original images with retina-ready ones, but only on Retina devices and only if retina-ready image is already found. If retina-ready image is not found, it returns an error message in browser console, which is not nice. So, until you have all images with its retina-ready representatives, this option should be disabled.
